Many men suffer from sexual performance problems. An interesting statistic showed however, that more women than men actually suffer from low sexual performance and are unhappy with the way they feel and perform during intercourse. There are many reasons for women to suffer from low levels of sexual performance, from physical factors to psychological factors. A common problem is Female Sexual Dysfunction (FSD). FSD affects women of all ages, and can be caused by physical conditions like diabetes, heart disease or nerve disorders or by psychological factors like work related stress, depression, anxiety and a lack of sexual awareness. The symptoms of Female Sexual Dysfunction include a failure to orgasm, an inability to become sexually aroused, vaginal dryness, pain or discomfort during intercourse and a general lack of sexual desire. One of the main causes of FSD and all these feelings of low sexual desire is also age and hormone imbalance. Women who have undergone surgery that has removed their ovaries and womb, or women going through menopause experience in a change in their hormonal production. A drop in sex hormones like testosterone will cause a woman to suffer from FSD. Testosterone patches have been developed to help treat women who suffer from FSD or low feelings of sexual desire.
